You can choose to either uninstall all of the software or to leave the shared software installed. If you choose to uninstall the shared software, some of your other NI software may no longer function correctly.
Note  Do not attempt to uninstall by manually deleting files.

Obsolete Properties and Attributes

The Hardware Compare Mode property and the NIHSDIO_ATTR_HWC_HARDWARE_COMPARE_MODE attribute are obsolete. They are replaced by the Supported Data States property and the NIHSDIO_ATTR_SUPPORTED_DATA_STATES attribute.

Known Issues

  • When using 64-bit user mode, NI-HSDIO does not support NI-HWS.

  • If you build 64-bit user mode applications that link to NI-HSDIO, you must add $(NIIVIPATH32)Lib_x64 as an additional linker library directory and add niHSDIO.lib as an additional linker dependency.

  • When using a MXI connection, some NI PXI Express devices may not be recognized after a shutdown. For more information, search ni.com/kb using the code 52LCTRZD.

  • The NI Script Editor does not support the new break and wait with marker scripting commands.

  • When linking to a topic in the NI Digital Waveform Generator/Analyzer Help from the context help or opening the help file from a VI within LabVIEW, the NI Digital Waveform Generator/Analyzer Help launches and the relevant topic displays, but the location of the topic might not be highlighted in the table of contents.

  • For the NI PXIe-6544/6545/6547/6548, internal error -219001 may occur intermittently when synchronizing multiple acquisitions using NI-TClk at rates below 5 MHz. If this error occurs, consider oversampling by configuring your acquisition with a higher sample rate.

  • In rare cases, the NI PXIe-6544/6545/6547/6548 may not utilize the full bandwidth of the PXI Express bus. These modules are x4 PXI Express devices, which are capable of using up to four 2.5 Gbps bus data lanes. Start-time negotiation between the PXI Express controller and the device may result in the device using only one or two data lanes. The result is reduced performance when reading or writing large amounts of waveform data. This situation is normally corrected the next time you restart your system. For more information, search ni.com/kb using the code 4RCAMBD4.

  • NI-HSDIO generates an error with an unknown status code when allocating streaming waveforms with sizes that are not 128-byte aligned.

  • Multiple devices that are synchronized with NI-TClk and that use external clocks must all use the same clock rate.

  • The acquisition Advance trigger is not NI-TClk synchronized.

  • If you click a topic link in the C/C++ Reference section of the NI Digital Waveform Generator/Analyzer Help, you cannot use the Back button in the HTML Help window toolbar to return to the original topic.

  • Clicking hyperlinks inside the context help windows of the NI-HSDIO function panel produces errors. To access the relevant function reference documentation, open the NI Digital Waveform Generator/Analyzer Help and navigate to Programming» Reference» C/C++ Reference.

  • NI-HSDIO devices might not be visible in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) when deploying to a LabVIEW Real-Time target. For more information, search ni.com/kb using the code 4RCAMBD4.

  • NI recommends that you disable Windows power management modes, such as sleep, standby, and hibernate when using this product. These modes terminate any NI-HSDIO operation in progress. Notice that in Windows 7/Vista or on a laptop computer, the default power management settings are likely to enable sleep mode.

  • When you run setup.exe to install the software from the CD, you are prompted to choose whether you want to always trust software from National Instruments. If you do not select this option, your installation may be interrupted by one or more Microsoft Windows security dialog boxes. However, if you run the installer in silent mode from the command line, you will not receive this prompt, and the installer will automatically install NI's Software Publisher Certificate to the your Windows Trusted Publisher Store. If you do not want to make this change to your Windows Trusted Publisher Store, do not choose this installation method.

  • The NI-HSDIO Express steps that ship with NI-HSDIO 1.6 were designed for use with NI SignalExpress 1.1 or later. The NI-HSDIO Express steps are compatible with NI SignalExpress 1.0 with the exception that software Start triggers are not supported.

  • The Configure Sample Clock VI now requires an input clock rate. If you are using NI-HSDIO 1.5.4 or earlier and did not provide this input, you will automatically have a constant (50 MHz) wired into the input.

  • The error and self-test message strings now return localized values in LabVIEW. User applications that check the value of these strings (or trap errors by comparing the error cluster) may experience a change in behavior.

  • Review the specifications document at Start»Programs»National Instruments»NI-HSDIO»Documentation to ensure that the clock and trigger signals you connect to the instrument meet the amplitude, jitter, and duty cycle requirements of your device.
