Legal Information
Installing, Evaluating, and Activating NI Developer SuiteComplete the following steps to install products on the NI Developer Suite DVDs:
Insert NI Developer Suite DVD 1.
Select whether to enter your serial numbers or evaluate software. You can also select whether you want to automatically activate your NI software, if you have Internet access.
Enter your serial numbers, if prompted. Locate the serial number on the Certificate of Ownership, the product packing slip, or the shipping label, depending on your purchase. If you are upgrading, you can use your existing NI Developer Suite serial number.
Select the products you want to install. You will be able to select both licensed and evaluation products.
Begin installation.
Enter any required information and activate when prompted, if necessary.
If you purchased any of the NI Developer Suite options, you can install and activate them using the DVDs. If you want to evaluate any of these options before purchasing them, you can install and try them for free. Refer to the product documentation for the length of the evaluation period.
Save the media in order to modify or repair your installation or to distribute NI software with your custom-built installers.
Refer to the NI Developer Suite printed documentation for additional activation instructions and a complete list of modules and toolkits available in NI Developer Suite.
Installing LabVIEW Add-OnsInstalling modules and toolkits from the NI Developer Suite DVDs ensures compatibility. Some versions of LabVIEW toolkits that are not found on these NI Developer Suite DVDs may not work with the version of LabVIEW included in this release. Installing an incompatible toolkit might cause some features in the toolkit or LabVIEW to behave incorrectly.
64-bit Versions of NI LabVIEW and NI Vision64-bit versions of NI LabVIEW and NI Vision software are available for download or upon request. To request copies of these software packages, visit ni.com/info and enter the Info Code lv64bit.
Product Security and Critical UpdatesVisit ni.com/security for security information about National Instruments products. Visit ni.com/critical-updates for information about critical updates from National Instruments.
Automating the Installation of NI ProductsYou can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes. However, starting with the August 2012 releases (products using NI Installers version 3.1 or later), you may need to perform additional steps before or during a silent installation of NI software.
If the NI product you are installing uses Microsoft .NET 4.0, the .NET installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.0 separately before you install NI software.

How to Use NI Software with Microsoft Windows 8.xWhen you install National Instruments software on Microsoft Windows 8.x, you will notice a few additional tiles in the Apps view, including shortcuts to NI application software products such as NI LabVIEW, Measurement & Automation Explorer (NI MAX), and NI Launcher.
Using NI LauncherNI Launcher helps you find and launch installed NI products. It provides you with a method of finding NI products similar to the Start menu in previous versions of Microsoft Windows. To use NI Launcher, click the NI Launcher tile in the Apps view. NI Launcher launches the desktop and opens a menu containing a list of NI products. Click any NI product to launch it.
| Note NI MAX does not appear as a desktop shortcut when installed on Microsoft Windows 8.x. You can launch NI MAX either from the Apps view or from within NI Launcher. |
Pinning Frequently Used ApplicationsFor convenience, you can pin your most-used NI applications, such as MAX, to either the Start screen or the Taskbar on the desktop, as necessary:

Finding All ProgramsIf you want to find a particular application or related files, such as documentation files, from the Start screen, you can access all installed files from the Apps view. To get to the Apps view, right-click anywhere on the Start screen and select All apps (Windows 8) or click the down arrow on the bottom left of the screen (Windows 8.1).

NI Drops Support for Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 in 2016National Instruments will drop support for Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 as of July 1, 2016. Versions of most products that ship after July 1, 2016 will not install or run on Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003. 如何在Microsoft Windows 8上使用NI软件在Microsoft Windows 8上安装NI软件时，开始屏幕上会增加一些图块，作为指向各个NI应用程序（比如NI LabVIEW、Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)和新增的NI启动器）等软件的快捷方式。
